Expeditionary Force to Samoa, departing New Zealand 15 August 1914 and disembarking 29 August 1914. O.C. Troops of the "Moeraki" was Lt.-Col. Fulton and of the "Monowai" Lt.-Col. Turner. Ship's Master of the "Moeraki" was Capt. D. Maclean and of the "Monowai" Capt. H.H. Williams. Vol.1, no.1 includes nominal roll of troops. A brief account of how the "Pull-thro'" was conceived and first printed is found in L.P. Leary's "New Zealanders in Samoa" (New Zealand Reserve Collection D 578.S2 ch. XIV)
