Glass sculpture (fairgroundunicorn Glass Crown)

human history
  • Description

Glass sculpture made from flameworked glass fronds on a silicon ring. The sculpture takes on the look of an inflated unicorn crown, like ones you could win at a fairground, and includes the detail of an inflating valve where air would be injected. This piece was awarded with the Innovation Award at the 2022 New Zealand Society of Glass (NZSAG) Members Show, held at the Sarjeant Gallery in Whanganui.
