    Stems with red tomentum. Hint of flattened brittle buds. On peaty ground, tussock grassland, with Oreobolus, Euphrasia cuneata, Hypochaeris radicata, Juncus novae-zelandiae. Growing mixed with Campylopus clavatus (c). Collected on Auckland Bot. Soc trip to Ruahine Ranges, based at Sixtus Lodge. Jan 2009. For Sixtus Lodge trip JEB collection numbers are not always in order of actual collecting.
