Bookplate miscellany : more bookplates and stories about their owners and designers

documentary heritage
  • Description

"In a way, this publication could be seen as a continuation of my book, Biographical journeys: 100 favourite bookplates (2009). I have aimed at two things: firstly to highlight plates which for various reasons seem well worth emphasising, and secondly, to feature artists and plate owners who I feel are worthy of further recognition. The majority of the entries are New Zealand-related.

There are also Australian, American, Canadian and English examples which I hope may be well received. It is a very personal selection and no doubt many different plates might have been chosen. I have tried to provide a selection of attractive designs and, many different plates might have been chosen. In addition, this is as the title suggests, a bookplate miscellany and so there are more than a few anecdotes..."-- Foreword.
