    'Ono village, Futuna. Fine hand-painted patterns persis on the lower borders of tapa skirts and are combined with much bolder freehand painting, which decorates the rest of the cloth. This example was worn by a male dancer, Masei Malino, at the 1992 Festival of Pacific Arts, Rarotonga, Cook Islands.' Neich and Pendergrast, 'Pacific Tapa', 1997.
