Flowers whitish-cream inside aging to yellow, and
burgandy on the outside, highly scented; stems also
burgandy coloured; leaves tinted purple - obvious
from a distance. Naturalised along road verge for
10m and covering blackberry, gorse & tree privet.
Appears to have displaced or pre-empted adjacent
normal L. japonica
