    Kahoa. Necklace. Kahoa are worn as an adornment in Tonga by men, women and children. They can be made from natural and synthetic materials, or a combination of the two. This kahoa Is made from pule shells and sialemohemohe (wild tamarind) seeds which have been strung onto a piece of string. The Kahoa is thick due to three lines of pueki shells connected together to form a thick necklace.

    There are small groups of sialamohemohe seeds inserted into gaps between the pueki shells.
