Field Collection Notes
As drift within shallow subtidal. Fronds erect from
small conical disc holdfast. Blades membranous,
flattened up to 15 cm long. Repeated dichotomous
branching, wide rounded apices. Sometimes
proliferous from margin. Cystocarps form
interrupted midrib on cystocarpic plants. Sporangia
as irregular patches on tetrasporic plants.
Scattered New Zealand wide.
