    Recorded by P J Anderson and L J Forester after advice by landowner. Single large plant growing on towai near house in open paddock (required climber to get specimen). The towai is to be banded as possums appear to be visiting the plant. Brian Russell says that two years ago the plant flowered creating a carpet of red flowers on the ground after a Christmas storm. New record for Northland. [Host
