Rear dune, near base of mudstone cliff; growing
amongst Ammophila, Gazania linearis, Lagurus,
Senecio elegans; with scattered clumps of Watsonia
spp., Babiana stricta, Lampranthus ? glaucus (AK
240466) & Tritonia crocata. Forming larger grassy
clumps than AK 240467-69 & 240471, with leaves less
erect. Uniform orange-scarlet flowers; floral tube
c.20mm, upper c.30mm, lobes to 20mm; stamens arcuate
below upper tepal, exerted; upper corolla tube more
or less uniform width until the lobes; floral bracts
short (< = 10mm), not forked at tips; only 4 robust
clumps seem of this species, growing with AK
240467-69; no juveniles seen; well established
garden discard or deliberate planting of some years
ago? Corm up to 60mm across, matted on outside
