Locally abundant as wild plants to 6m tall (probably taller further away from road); flat weedy area (several hectares); amongst matagouri, a few Cotoneaster & an acer (all wild). Closed brown cones on the ground: 65-70 x 28-32mm; opened on drying: 60-65 x 50-60mm. Foliage (AK284787) cones (AK284788)
