Planted tree (one of two seen) 5 m tall, growing in garden adjoining carpark. Unhealthy. Bark flaking in loose fluted pieces, pinkish grey. Branchets glabrescent. Hairs sparse, patent (40x mag.). Leaves bright green. Flowers with 10-14 stamens arranged [2,3 ap - 2,3 as] x 5pe. Kunzea ericoides s.s does not thrive in Auckland. Exact origin of specimens planted in these gardens is unknown.
