    Common along roadside within mixed Podocarpus totara, Metrosideros robusta and Dacrydium cupressinum forest. Also associated with sparse K. ericoides x K. "amathicola" hybrids - K. "amathicola" is common in nearby estuary. From this point south and west K. ericoides becomes the dominant and only Kunzea species present. This collection had flowers with 5 or 6 petals and numerous petalloid stamens.
