    Common in swales within semi-consolidated sand dune - dominant component of vegetation. Multitrunked trees up to 8 m tall with broad canopy.Canopy often festooned with Muehlenbeckia complexa. Foliage markedly dimorphic, assumed juvenile obovate, dark olive green, margins with numerous silky white hairs. This foliage restricted to basal reversion shoots and shaded portions of tree. Adult foliage similar but oblanceolate to lanceolate. Branchlets copious covered in appressed, ascending white silky hairs.
