    Powder horn, carved in 1864 during the Maori wars, by Robert Gibb (farmer) of the Forest Rangers, (Captain von Tempsky's force). R Gibb served in Jackson's Company.

    Scrimshaw bullock horn with wooden base and removable stopper, metal suspension fittings

    Scrimshaw illustrations include: a mounted soldier, the Clifden Cup, Stamford, 1864, the god Pan riding a stag, two birds on a branch, a goat, a fox and a monkey, marked on base: "Robert Gibb / 1864"
