  • Field Collection Notes
Several large patches on steep hillside, near end of flowering. There are 4-5 large patches, each covering many square metres, on the hillside above a 300m stretch of road. Most of the patches are 50-60m above the road on the steepest faces, but the patch from which I collected specimens was 3-20m above the road. There are houses along the top of the cliffs, and Aloe is grown in the area. It has been long established and may have spread from private gardens or roadside plantings—it has been used extensively in coastal roadside retaining walls around Wellington. Collection over 2 sheets (AK297380-81)
