very wet swamp; tussocks of grass separated by water; growing in water under shade of grass; quite common. Habit: erect herb to ~25cm tall; stem pubescent all over; leaves brownish, secondary veins visible and darker brown; leaves shorter than internodes; flowers from leaf axils; upper leaves opposite; capsule ~2.5cm long, green-brown, hairy on pedicel; pedicel ~1.5cm long..
