    very wet swamp, with tussocks of grass, separated by water; growing in water, sheltered by grass. Habit: erect herb to ~40cm tall; reddish brown; leaves glabrous, veins raised below, leaf tip obtuse; flowers white, ~1.2cm long; sepals slightly keeled; stigma very large, 2 lobes, on thin, nodding style; ovary pubescent.
