very wet swamp, with tussocks of grass, separated by water; growing in water, sheltered by grass. Habit: erectherb to 0.5m, stem square, reddish; leaves glabrous with darker reddish undersides, veins raised below; inflorescence pubescent all over; flowers rose-purple, erect; capsule ~4cm long, on 1.5cm pedicel..
