Occasional plants forming compact "tussocks" under trees lining bank of stream. Frond dark purple-green - very different looking from the majority of Chatham Island Polystichum vestitum I have seen and collected, this material matching more that which occurs on the mainland, and which occurs only rarely on the Chatham Islands.
