    Uncommon. Both forms present this of the more scarce form on the island (A. hookerianum var. colensoi)at this site. Plants found growing on flood plain in dense Hoho/Mahoe forest on side of creek. Associated with Asplenium gracillimum, Polystichum vestitum and Polystichum aff. vestitum.
