    Sterling silver tea pot engraved "Presented to William Cruikshank by his Napier friends on the occasion of his marriage, August 13th 1875 (descriptive name)

  • Description

    Teapot. Part of a set given to William Cruikshank on his marriage on 13 August 1875. The teapot is made of sterling silver and is engraved on both sides. The crest on the left side is of the Scottish Clan Graham, and depicts a falcon killing a stork under the motto NE OUBLIE. On the right side is a crest of a hand holding a sword upright over the motto CAVENDO TUTUS. These crests are surrounded by oval borders and floral designs.

    A dedication is engraved above the spout: "Presented to William Cruikshank by his Napier friends on the occasion of his marriage, August 13th 1875." The lid of the teapot is hinged. There are hallmarks on the base of the teapot.
