    6m adult, fruiting. On S-facing escarpment, open regenerating native bush of: mahoe, Lophomyrtus obcordata, Streblus heterophyllus (a few), Leucopogon fasciculatus (loc.), kowhai (kohekohe & puriri present to W). Several other P. ferox in close proximity, including saplings & seedlings (largest seen: c.8m tall, and 20-22cm dbh). Kanuka stumps present (cut for firewood?) and young kanuka along top of the escarpment
