Field Collection Notes
Young plants collected from a clogged drain culvert within the compound outside the School of Biological Sciences Growth Rooms (Glasshouses) where a fertile parent of this fern was kept (that fern said to have come from the Solomon Islands). Plants when fresh bright green, brittle, stipes dark purple-black, glossy, rhizomatous, rhizome scales black. Originally collected as a Cystopteris sp, then identified as a possible species of Anogramma (B.S. Parris 6 April 2005). Compare this gathering with AK 330467. This site, including the growth rooms and the plants held there, was destroyed in 2008 and is now a new tower block.
