    • Field Collection Notes
Uncommon. Growing amongst dense area of Persicaria decipiens, Myriophyllum propinquum, and Ranunuclus amphitrichus with a taller cover of Juncus effusus. Plants erect, dark red when fresh, flowers only female, leaves mostly entire, sparingly toothed. Growing with typical M. propinquum (plants with toothed, pinnate and entire leaves, bearing male and female flowers). Possibly an aberrhant form of M. propinquum but aside from the plants colopur when fresh this gathering seems closer to M. simulans or M. variifolium than M. propinquum as I know it for New Zealand.
