  • Description

    Tāhiri. Fan. The blade of the Tāhiri (fan) is woven possibly from ni’au (coconut midrib) and the handle is made from carved bone showing four Marquesan tiki figures, two at the top back to back and two below back to back.

    Commencement woven from the centre base, and woven out in a twill weave. Natural brown in colour. A darker coloured plant fibre cord is wrapped around below the fan and the top of the handle.
