    Rhododendron garden, shade beneath shrubs. Semi-spontaneous. Sprawling herb with decumbent to suberect stems, purple & shining, glabrous. Leaves to 5-(7)-2-(4) cm, ovate, acute to short acuminate, shining to nearly dull green above, ± shining beneath & green & often purplish-tinged; basal petiolar sheath purplish & ciliate. Flowers white, in small clusters. Sepals 4-5 mm long, green, equal or nearly so, ovate or narrow-ovate. Pedicels to 1.8 cm long, shining purple, glabrate or ± glandular-pilose distally, ± curving downwards when young. Petals 6-8-4-5 mm, broad ovate, obtuse. Stamens 4-5 mm long; filaments white; anthers yellow. Filament basal hair tuft nearly = gilament; hairs septate. A small patch.
