One 15 m tall tree growing in roadside forest remnant amongst mahoe (Melicytus ramiflorus), kaikomako (Pennantia corymbosa) and kohekohe (Dysoxylum spectabile). Tree with straight erect trunk, bark smooth, not rugose, branchlets smooth (not tuberculate), leaf buids green, leaves bright green to dark green when fresh - not glaucescent, oil glands numerous but very small and scarcely discernible to naked eye unless held up to a light. Seems to fit this Chatham Island endemic better than it does M. laetum or M. aff. insulare. Typical M. laetum is common on the peninsula. DUPLICATE SENT TO: CHR
