    Growing within man-made wetlands, about 1km below the kaki (Black Stilt) aviaries, in a gravelly to silty ephemeral lake margin of one of the larger ponds. These ponds are less than 20 years old. Plant very dark brown in colour, smelling faintly fishy when crushed. Very abundant (many 1000s of plants). Growing over a length of 200m of lake edge, and width of 3 – 30m. It grows both right up the water’s edge and further away from the water at quite dry site. Leaves firmly fleshy. DNA voucher
