    On steep bank above road & Spanish heath. Low spreading shrub to c.50 cm high, with stiff rigid branches forming a semi-herringbone pattern, tending fasciated towards the ends which are often buried in grass. Leaves dark glossy green above, glaucescent beneath. Fruit 8-10 mm diameter, very broadly obovoid (wider than long), deep crimson. A few plants.
