    Tall tree ht ca 23m, DBH 2.65m. Branches spreading, weeping at ends. Bark rough, vertically ridged. Leaves mid-green glossy upper, paler dull below. Terminal branchlets close together. Leaves in a whorl at end of braanchlets. Acorns in 2's, ca 3cm long, ovoid, caps smoothly patterned.
    Open forest situation. Canopy tree.
    Common oak.
