Sparse, 8-stemmed, spindly, upright bush. Ht 2.08m. Older wood light brown, splitting: young branches covered with pale brown woolly hairs. Foliage at branch ends. Leaves soft, mid-green upper with deeply indented veins, finely hairy. Underside pale green with woolly white veins and midrib and petiole. New leaves grey-green, woolly. Flowers orange, labiate, covered in fine hairs. Lower 3 petals yellow throated with 2 streaks of yellow, extending down petal. Yellow anthers and stigma lying against upper lip. Unusually scented. Bracts purpley-green, downy.
East facing slope, open to Nth, under tall conifer. Sheltered.
