  • Field Collection Notes
    Small, upright, young tree, much branched. Ht ca 5m, DBH 5cm. Wood mid-dark brown. Leaves coriaceous, dark green, glossy. Younger leaves bright green, very shiny. Leaves alt. but close together at ends of branches as to appear whorled. Foliage mod. dense.
    Assoc. sp. puriri, titoki, and kahikatea. Not common.
    Semi-shady subcanopy situation, on warm side of bush. Sheltered.
    Karaka.
