    Syn Q. castaneifolia var. incana.
    Tall, erect tree. Ht ca 18m+. DBH 50.5cm. Bark grey, ridged. Many branched tree, lower branches outspread. Leaves mid-dark green glossy upper with short stubby hairs; underside grey-green with short matted hairs. Petioles and branchlet tips finely hairy. Acorn cap has curved scales, soft, enclosing 1/4 to 1/3 of acorn. Tall ovoid acorn.
    Canopy tree growing near bottom of East facing slope. Sunny, sheltered.
