    Slender deciduous tree. Ht ca 6m, DBH 34cm. Open branching. Bark rough, light brown, peeling in vertical strips, even on young bark. Flowers hanging below leaves. Fruit capsule pale pink-green. Leaves mid-green semi-glossy upper, paler grey-green underside. Autumn colours deep purple-red. Many seedlings growing around main tree.
    Sth facing slope - forest situation. Cool, shaded.
