      New Zealand, North Island, Gisborne Land District, Eastwoodhill Arboretum, M2, Gondwana Bush, lower path deviating off main path to Burma Rd, tree on downhill side of path

      Upright slender tree, Ht ca 5.5m. Tree fastigiate trunks forming at 0.5m. Bark dark brown with paler lenticels appearing as horizontal stripes. Foliage dense. Leaves narrow, oblong, stiff, with toothed margins. Mid-green glossy upperside, underside paler covered in fine brown hairs thicker along midvein. Leaves alt or opposite. Older leaves yellowing - showing necrotic spots.
      SW side of mod-steep sloping hillside. Some shading. Replanted native forest. Exposed to South.
      Rewa Rewa. NZ Honeysuckle.
