  • Field Collection Notes
    Many trunked, many branched spreading tree. Twiggy. Ht ca 11m. Open, rounded canopy, outer branches drooping. Deciduous. Sweetly scented white flowers with deep purple-pink throat and calyx. Single flowers opening flat. Tall upright stamens; white filament, orange anthers. Purple leaves emerging. Flowers 2.5cm across.
    Mostly sunny position. Some shading from tall Fraxinus excelsior. On slight ridge exposed to South.
