    New Zealand, North Island, Gisborne Land District, Eastwoodhill Arboretum, F8, beneath Gum Ridge, to right of exit driveway

  • Field Collection Notes
    Med-tall two trunked tree, spreading branches. Ht ca 14m. DBH 17.5cm, 28.5cm. Bark grey, split. Flowers pure white, double, hanging in clusters beneath branches, 3-4 flowers/cluster, and many clusters at branch tips. Petals white, several layers, cupped slightly, opening out nearly flat. Pure white stamens, cream [to] gold anthers. Faintly scented. New lvs glossy bright green, petioles deep purple-red.
    Sunny, sheltered open forest situation. Sheltered.
    Double Flowered Gean.
