    New Zealand, North Island, Gisborne Land District, Eastwoodhill Arboretum, I7, Cherry Lane, just past 3 Bridges, beside path

  • Field Collection Notes
    Med-tall tree, upright central trunks; horizontal, spreading lower branches. 6-trunked. Ht ca 13m. Bark pale brown with lenticels showing. Leaves mid to dark green glossy upper, paler dull underside with roughly glandular appearance. Flowers in thick clusters, bracts dark brown, hairy. Numerous filaments green-yellow maturing to yellow. Anthers deep pink maturing to creamy-peach. No scent.
    Partially shaded open forest situation. Sheltered.
