      Small, spreading, 8 trunked tree. Ht ca 5.5m. Spread 10m. Canopy open and flat. Branching crookedly alt. Bark pale grey-brown, patchy. Leaves often in 3's on short twiggy branches. Lvs 7-9 imparipinnate, mid-green matt upper, paler under. Margins upturned. Petiole and rachis red-blushed. Many pinky-red berries in loose clusters, glandular skin; held above the leaves. Fruit ovoid, 4mm wide x 6mm tall, with peppery taste and causing tingling on mouth. Older lower trunks have large winged spines. Leaves and seeds very aromatic.
      Growing on steep S. facing slope just below main track. Morning shade. Sheltered by surrounding tall trees.
