    Tree 6m tall, dbh 10cm. Top damaged by snow. Bark pale grey, smooth; leaves dark green above, paler beneath with thin, rusty tomentum. Young foliage covered in red hairs. Wild collection notes: Berry (with Murphy) 8924, near Huatusco, Veracruz.
