[Original det.]: G. insulare Sm&Stone var. insulare. Volcanic ash soil; ash gravel size or larger; Casuarina "needles" forming a layer on the ground; fairly openl Casuarina dominant tree. Shrub c. 3m tall; common; corolla whitish; flowers with a foetid odor. DUP ex CHR, received 1999. [Unsure on exact location - coordinates reflect crater rim of western edge of island]
