    Chionochloa pallens tussockland on steep hillslope, with Polystichum vestitum, Bulbinella hookeri, Phormium cookianum. Both parent species present in the area. Aciphylla squarrosa 5m away and plentiful. No other Aciphylla species present on this range. One plant seen, not in flower. Sap clear. Plant with 4 rosettes, not at all glaucous, while Aciphylla squarrosa in this area is always glaucous. DUP ex CHR
