    ribbon bar with single medal ribbon for the UN Assistance Mission East Timor/UN Transitional Authority East Timor (UNAMET/UNTEAT) medal, associated with Corp. IJ Railey 2/1 Bn Grp, RNZIR who served with UNAMET in 2000. The medal was awarded for 90 days consecutive service between 25 October 1999 to 15 May 2001.

    ribbon: two outer bands of UN 'smoke-blue' represent the UN presence in East Timor, inside of which are two narrow crimson and yellow bands on either side, representing the brilliant and spectacular sunrises and sunsets experienced in East Timor. The central band is white, the colour of peace and hope, reflecting the Mission's goal of achieving peace.
