    A common component of the remnant secondary vegetation with many adults and seedlings throughout the reserve. This tree to c 6m tall, on hard white clay. Growing in open scrub with occasional tall pines, kanuka and pohutakawa. Common shrubs include mingimingi, Coprosma robusta, Pomaderris spp and hangehange.
