    Te mwae teimoone. Shell currency. This shell currency consists of small pieces of thick white te nouo (conus shell) and thin dark brown (te nana) coconut shell ground into small discs drilled at their centre and strung in an alternating monochrome pattern on a length of medium brown cord of te kora (coconut sennit), tied off at each end. At four segments on the neck ornament the strand splits into two to create loose oval shapes. The pieces are 7mm in diameter.
