An old black-backed gull nest which has recently been lined with a small amount of fresh (still green) material: veldt grass (this specimen), allseed, gorse and glasswort (only glasswort, ice-plant and Spergularia tasmanica occur naturally on the reef, but all present on adjacent coastline).
