Handwritten message reads: "N.Z. No III Hospital, Codford, Wilts. 17.3.17. Dear Mrs Mickle - I was delighted to get the Auckland Weekly yesterday as I was beginning to think all my N.Z. friends had forgotten me as it is ages since I heard from anyone but no doubt some of my mail is reposing at the bottom of the deep blue sea.

We are very busy and have had a very hard winter but today it is just lovely and I hope Spring will soon be here - have not heard from Oxley for some time I hope he is keeping fit also hope you are well and enjoying the lovely weather which is [reigning] in N.Z. With all good wishes from Kitty Goucher".
