The Four Sons
A father has four sons,
One serves as a pilot
And his airplane flies
In the dark night to Berlin.
And the second one at Stalingrad
On the ruined riverbanks
without missing a single one,
Shells the retreating enemy.
The third son stands watch
In the dark night at sea
And the fourth one in our mines
Handles the miner's pick.
Indivisible and united,
On the home front and abroad,
A father has four sons,
And all four fight in the war.
