On verso: Riverlaw, near Christchurch, NZ, on the river Heathcote, about 4 miles from Christchurch. Frederick Banks lived here in the fifties about 1859 - Mr Murray Aynsley bought the property in the sixties and lived there after building a large red brick house and making a most beautiful garden. After many years it was sold and a new house built there. J.M. Banks. Jan 1935.
